Birthday Cards For Colleagues Office Birthday Cards - Friend Or Foe?

Office birthday cards - friend or foe? - birthday cards for colleagues

I work for a company with about 100 people. We usually spend about a birthday card in a folder with a list of phones - all characters and crossed his name from the list. If you have already worked in a large office, you know how it goes: disappearing cards, which people forget, some maps are full of signatures, the other end with only a few. The feelings of the people injured and some have suggested removing it completely. Those who want to keep the cards say, when to start a small business and personal cards, a special reminder that we care about our colleagues.
Has anyone solved this problem? I thought it could be an electronic card that can "be" numerically, it would then get an e-mail to the person's birthday, but nothing seems to exist. Just send a generic "Happy Birthday to John in the books" Human Resources e-mail seems a little impersonal.

We had an early breakfast each month to recognize the anniversary of each. In addition, any person engaged in a birthday card have been responsible for the purchase of cards and letters by the ministries or the character of his department.
In a company, all were informed of HR, gifts and donate a "social fund." It seemed as if the HR people took credit for everything that I preferred arrangement.
I hope that helps. =)
